Mechanitis polymnia

Elongated wings in a tiger pattern of orange, black and yellow, typical of Neotropical mimicry rings. It flies low and slowly, almost floating through shaded vegetation, and visits flowers often. Its unhurried flight allows close viewing, and it is a good species for illustrating mimicry complexes.
