Tiger Longwing

Heliconius hecale

A tiger pattern of black, orange and yellow, with pale spots near the forewing tips. One of the larger longwings, it flies at a leisurely pace, visits flowers often and adults live for several weeks. Its size and warm colours make it highly photogenic and a consistent visitor favourite.
