Gray Cracker

Hamadryas februa

Pale gray with intricate white, black and bluish marbling and a light underside, it becomes nearly invisible against bark. It spends long stretches head-down on trunks with wings open and comes to fermenting fruit. The clicking of males in flight never fails to surprise visitors.
