Arcas Cattleheart

Black wings with crimson hindwing spots, and males also bear a greenish patch on the forewing. It flies slowly and low, fluttering continuously as it sips nectar. Chemically protected by its Aristolochia host plant, it is an elegant, easy-to-watch species that rewards close observation.
